In order to comply with incoming federal legislation, Executive Flight Centre required training to reflect their updated company policy manual.

Live Animal Handling

When airlines mishandle animals, it often makes the local news.
This eLearning course was created at the request of the Vice President of Airports to address issues WestJet was having with the handling and carriage of kennels and other live animals.

This course became a requirement for more than 10,000 ground handling agents across the system.

787 eLearning

Introducing a new aircraft type into the fleet is a colossal undertaking for any airline and ground handling training often has low priority in the scope of project management and planning.

In order to meet a 7-week development and design window, a rapid-development approach was required. I leveraged the training current ground handling agents had already completed for other aircraft types, given that this aircraft was only going to be deployed to existing stations.
I created five eLearning modules to be completed by ground handling agents in succession, covering:
-
General 787 Information
-
Ground Servicing and Safety
-
Lavatory and Water Service
-
Baggage and Cargo Handling
-
Arrival and Departure Sequences
The eLearning modules were well received by the stakeholders and ground handling agents alike, and by the time the 787 entered service, the agents were so well prepared and comfortable with the information that there were no ground handling incidents or delays on any of the flights. I received plenty of direct and anecdotal feedback that the agents felt they had been properly prepared to handle this new aircraft.
