Instructor-Led Training
WestJet's Ground Operations Training department comprises Ground and Winter Operations (creating and communicating standards and procedures), Training Delivery, and Instructional Design.

Once training has been created by Instructional Design, it is vetted for accuracy by Ground and Winter Operations. ID then conducts beta classes and train-the-trainers (TTT) to Training Delivery. In turn, Training Delivery delivers TTT sessions to contracted systemwide trainers on how to deliver the program in their local stations.

WestJet flies to bases in North and Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe. The local trainers in these bases range widely in their training, education, and even language. These factors are addressed during the design and development phases, so instructor-led training is designed to be read off the page.
The tone is mostly semi-formal, but safety and security topics are written in a formal voice. This approach is intended to make it easier for most trainers and translators.
737 Procedural Training
Commonly called "The Workhorse of the Skies", the Boeing B737 makes up most of WestJet's fleet. The main components of the instructor-led ground handling training program for this aircraft are viewable by clicking the boxes below.
